The 3 C.O.W. belles is a name I came up with for a venture involving 3 women (the "belles") in my life: my wife and my sisters. The "C.O.W." refers to the first letters of their surnames.
There had been some talk amongst the respective families about ideas to generate income from hobbies and also potential business plans, which started to gather significant momentum in early 2010. Although the particular idea that kicked this off this round of discussion only involved two of the belles, I thought that it might be feasible that all three of them - skilled and gifted in various ways - could maybe join forces one day, supported by their various husbands (whether that support is just moral support, or more). My thinking was that at a minimum there could be some sort of cooperation and "common branding", even if each belle focussed on their own craft.
The slogan/tagline of "practically beautiful" which can be read a few ways:
- almost beautiful, suggesting something that is quite good, maybe not strictly beautiful but pretty close
- beautiful in its practicality, suggesting something that is useful and beautiful
Why practically beautiful? Well, it's because I think the offerings, whilst not necessarily must have things, are nevertheless useful and have an element of beauty. And of course, the phrase fits the 3 C.O.W. belles quite well too :)
